Faculty:

Manuela Bojadžijev is Assistant Professor at the Institute for European Ethnology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and is the coordinator and host of the Erasmus intensive programme “Teaching the Crisis”.

Regina Römhild is Professor of European Ethnology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she is director of the research lab Critical Europeanization Studies. As a faculty member her contribution to TTC will focus on the postcolonial politics of Europe in crisis.

Ben Trott is Associate Lecturer in Political Science at the JFK Institute for North American Studies, Freie Universität Berlin (as of October 2013). As a faculty member, his contribution to TTC will focus on social movements in the current crisis.

Jan Hutta is Assistant Professor of Cultural Geography at Bayreuth University. As a faculty member his contribution to TTC will focus on urban transformation in Berlin.

Further Contributions:

Amir Husak (web & editorial) is a digital media artist and Part-Time Faculty in the Media Studies department at The New School in New York. He practices media making as means of overcoming communication barriers and other borders, real or imagined. He is particularly interested in digital media representations of history and their impact on identity politics.

Michael Willenbücher (web) is a system administrator and application developer at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.


Students:

Kelly Mulvaney is currently completing her MA in European Ethnology and is student coordinator of Teaching the Crisis. Her academic and activist interests include questions and practices of social organization and daily-life approaches to political economy. She has recently written on gender and labor under capitalism and is researching transnationality in contemporary social movements.

Hannah Schurian is currently completing her master’s degree in Social Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Crisis and crises have been a central issue in Hannah’s studies as well as in her political work. She is especially interested in feminist political economy and the perspective of social reproduction.

Yossi Bartal is currently studying in the master program of Musicology at Humboldt University in Berlin. Active in various anti-racist and anti-capitalist groups in Israel-Palestine and Germany for the past 10 years.

Sabrina Apicella is a Master student in European Ethnology at Humboldt University Berlin and holds a scholarship by the Rosa Luxemburg foundation. She is interested in migration, racism and anti-racism, empirical studies on crises, social movements and in sound as a method – on a scientifical level and as a political activist.

Noel Nicolaus
